Holmewood and Heath: Raising Aspirations

We can take our surroundings, history and who we are for granted some times, sometimes we need to stop, look and take stock.

Investigating and discovering the local natural and industrial heritage as a way of engaging and making positive differences to a group of young people was the aim of this public art project.  Walking, outdoor activities and looking at historical sites help to build a “sense of place” while creative workshop:  sketching, design and modelmaking ensured that this artwork truly belonged to these young people, instilling pride and ownership.
